KALGA – KESGRAVE ALLOTMENT & LEISURE GARDENERS ASSOCIATION

Kesgrave Allotment & Leisure Gardening Association was created by a few residents from the village who had a wish to grow vegetables, fruit and flowers but only have limited space in their own gardens.
KALGA came into existence from 2008/9 with the main objective of obtaining allotments for residents of Kesgrave and the surrounding area. Unfortunately there was no land available within the Parish of Kesgrave and the local council was unable to accommodate any allotments.
So those few members worked tirelessly speaking to local farmers and land owners in the hope of finding land to rent for allotments for the Residents of Kesgrave. In 2011 they achieved their goal when they received an approach from the owners of Lux Farm at Playford who offered to lease 5 acres of land and allow KALGA to set up a private allotment site.KALGA allotment’s is a Private Company Limited by Guarantee run by its members for its members
and any funds raised are ploughed back into the running of the site.
