The Lamp Light of Peace will be lit.

The D-Day 80 Lamp Light of Peace is a traditional oil lantern designed to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France, which occurred on June 6^th, 1944.

The lamp represents the “light of peace” that emerged from the darkness of war.  The red ruby colour of the lamp symbolises the ultimate sacrifice made by brave men and women across the globe during the D-Day landings and throughout the war.
