Christmas 2020
A very different time of yearThe Festive Season is upon us, and this year, we have had to make many changes to the calendar of events that we would normally have put on.
Christmas Tree, Lights switch on.
We have put up the Christmas Tree in the square, along with the lights on the lamp posts. New for this year we have organised additional trees along the front of the shop units adjacent to the square. Unfortunately due to restrictions we were not able to have the annual switch-on gathering, so to bring a bit of that festive feeling we’ve attached a selection of pictures of the lights and the some fantastic displays around the town.
Ice Skating Weekend.
Unfortunately this has had to be cancelled for this year. We had planned an extended run for this increasingly popular event, but we are now planning for it’s return in December 2021.
Evening of Reflection.
We have been running this event for many years now, were you can place a star or bauble on the tree in memory of loved one’s, this would be followed by carols and a dedication. This year the tree in All Saints Churchyard will be open , as ever, to all for you to place your star or bauble on and take a moment in memory of those we wish to remember. There will be a gathering / service at 7pm on Friday 18th December this year, the tree will have lights on it (from 4th December) as previous and this will identify it to you if it’s your first time and you wish to place your star on the tree at another time.
Kesgrave Market.
The Market will be held on the 19th December at the Kesgrave Scott Hall. www.kesgravemarket.org.uk
Father Christmas has agreed to be with us on this last weekend before Christmas, as he was unable to turn on our lights on the Kesgrave Christmas Tree this year. Children and families will be able to meet him (social distancing applies).
