Kesgrave High School

Offering a wide variety of A Level and BTEC subjects

KESGRAVE HIGH SCHOOL

Kesgrave High School is proud of its inclusive structure, it’s broad and balanced curriculum and it has been designated both a National Teaching School and National Maths Hub. We are thoroughly committed to providing the best educational experience possible, the chance to explore music and the arts, to study a range of STEM and Humanities subjects, experience a wide range of sports and ensure all students are prepared for further study or the world of work.

At Kesgrave we trust our pupils and nurture positive relationships giving them complete access to the school site at all times. As a result the ‘responsibility and behaviour of students is excellent. They are polite, courteous and are a credit to the school’. (Ofsted 2013)

SIXTH FORM

What makes us different is the people. We believe we have a very rare thing, a community. Everyone within the Sixth Form, and indeed the entire school, has respect, tolerance and a mutual understanding for one another. Our aim is for students to leave Sixth Form thinking ‘I really enjoyed that experience’ – knowing that they have been consistently encouraged and supported by the teachers and staff. Exam results are important too, but students making the most of the opportunities available to them is our real success.

Students achieve outstanding A Level results and around 73% go on to pursue University courses each year. In 2016 72% of grades were A* – C.

We offer a wide variety of A Level and BTEC subjects, and have exceptional specialist facilities for applied subjects such as ICT, Media, Photography, Music Technology, Dance and Textiles. All our students are able to study in the Sixth Form during study periods, in the two University style Learning Resource Areas.

“At Kesgrave High School Sixth Form, we welcome all students who have a genuine desire to learn, coupled with a motivation to focus and succeed. We aim to support, guide and encourage students and our results reflect both the commitment of the school and the mature approach of our students to their studies.”

– Mrs Wheatley – Head of Sixth Form
