Stammers Place

Stammers Place: PC Stammers 176 – PC Stammers came to Kesgrave in 1948 and lived in Ashdale Road until the new Police House was built at 221 Main Road. He was very active and very devoted In his position. No matter whether it was day or night one was never certain as to where he would appear!

He gained promotion to the rank of sergeant and was moved to Copdock/ Capel in mid-1954. At this time Kesgrave was much smaller and his knowledge of the district was a feature to be admired.
