Millennium Sports Ground / Millennium Jubilee Hall

The Millennium Sports Ground (MSG) is situated in Long Strops, Kesgrave, on the southern edge of the Grange Farm development, adjacent to Dobbs Wood.

The area was levelled and sown in Autumn 1999 and started being used in the season starting September 2001. It includes two sports pitches 110 yards (1000m) by 80 yards (73m) each. On 18th August 2002 the pavilion was officially opened by two Ipswich Town football players who then kicked off an opening match between Kesgrave Kestrel Seniors and Managers.

Kesgrave Town Council extended and re-developed the hall on the Millennium Sports Ground site to provide a much needed community facility. There are many halls which can be hired throughout Kesgrave but none to the eastern end of the development and it appears not enough to meet demand. The building was originally a sports pavilion but the showers were very rarely used and were removed.

The current accommodation has been altered with a new hall built to the western end and the kitchen has been enlarged and is accessible from either room. There are also the usual “facilities” of male and female toilets and one specifically for disabled patrons.

To the eastern end of the building there is a fenced off outside area in the region of 125sq metres. This can be accessed from the Millennium room.
