Event Details

Dear Residents,

Due to the Country now being in Lockdown 2 from Thursday 5 November, alternative arrangements for Remembrance Sunday and the 11.11 Remembrance Ceremony have been put together by the RBL, All Saints Church and the Town Council.

A video has been produced of the Remembrance Ceremony at the Memorial on Legion Green, with the RBL Chairman (Don Whinney), Standard Bearer (Barry Chittock), All Saints Vicar (Rev Robin Spittle) and three trumpeters from Kesgrave High School. This was videoed on Tuesday 3 November before the lockdown took effect.

On Sunday there will now be a Remembrance Service starting at 10am via zoom, run by All Saints Church, followed by the Remembrance Ceremony video starting at 10.45am timed to have the silence at 11am.
You are warmly welcome to attend both parts, the Remembrance Service at 10am and the Remembrance Ceremony at 10.45am or just join at 10.45am for the Ceremony itself.

The zoom connection details are as follows:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85903994203?pwd=cS9SdG0yVEtuajY2SEJXOVcwaitnZz09
Meeting ID: 859 0399 4203
Passcode: 543322

If you don’t have Zoom already installed, then it is advised to do this before the day. The zoom call can take 500 people connecting and users will be let into the meeting at the start of each session and will be muted by default, there will not be any interactive parts to the Service.

On Wednesday 11 November there will be a link on the Town Council website www.kesgravetowncouncil.org.uk to enable you to watch the Remembrance Ceremony, which includes the 2 minute silence.
There is also a copy of the 2020 Remembrance Ceremony booklet (provided by Don Whinney), which you are able to download or view on the Town Council website.

‘We will remember them’.
