New Youth Club – Thursday Evenings
The Town Council is delighted to report that the new model youth facility which opened on Thursday, 1st February 2018 by Orwell for its first session and launch was very popular and well-received by our young people in the Town.
In readiness for the opening date, Orwell held planning meetings with its staff, reviewed its documentation related to the service, such as risk assessments, signing in sheets and general procedures, arranged visits to the local High School and carried out general marketing – which included some consultation sessions with young people to find out what they would like to do at the Youth Club.
The Town Council is really looking forward to working closely with Orwell and continuing to work with the young people from our Town and High School via Orwell, in order to provide a facility for young people which works well and provides a safe and designated space for them to meet, with the main aims and objectives being:
- For young people to feel they have a say over what activities are delivered in Kesgrave
- Young people to feel positive about the Youth Club and provision for young people in the Town
- Young people attending the provision regularly, to feel safe, supported and positive about themselves.
- A more positive perception of young people among the adults in the community.
