Bell Lane, Kesgrave
Mon 8th to Wed 10th April 08.30-16.00
Bell Lane in Kesgrave will be closed for drainage investigation works from Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th April between 08.30 and 16.00 each day.
The route 66 bus will not operate via Kesgrave Busway, Bell Lane and the eastern end of Penzance Road.
The 66 bus will operate as follows:
From Ipswich, as normal along Beech Road to Penzance Road, then turn left onto Oregon Road (just before the Penzance Road shops) then left onto Montana Road and follow around onto Edmonton Road all the way up to the A1214. Turn right and then right again onto Ropes Drive, resuming normal route beyond the busway. (The bus will not serve the busway).
From Martlesham, as normal to Ropes Drive but the service WILL NOT run via the busway. Instead, it will continue up to the A1214 and operate the outbound diversion route in reverse.
Route 68 Bus Service Diversions
Bell Lane & Cambridge Road Kesgrave
Mon 8th to Fri 12th April 08.30-16.00
The route 68 bus will not operate via Bell Lane because of drainage investigation work on Mon 8th – Wed 10th April 0830-1600hours. And it will not operate via the top end of Cambridge Road (near the A1214 junction) due to water mains work on Wed 10th – Fri 12th April.
On Mon 8th and Tues 9th the 68 bus will operate as follows:
From Ipswich, as normal up to Edmonton Road, then instead of turning right into Edmonton Close the bus will
continue up to the junction with the A1214 and turn right, resuming normal route after the junction with Bell Lane.
From Kesgrave, as normal up to Bell Lane and instead of turning into Bell Lane, the bus will continue along the A1214 to Edmonton Road and continue its usual route via Edmonton Road, Orchard Grove and Cambridge Road
This means that Edmonton Close and Bell Lane bus stops will be closed.
On Wed 10th April with both Bell Lane and upper Cambridge Rd closed the 68 bus will operate as follows:
From Ipswich, as normal up to Cambridge Road and instead of turning into Cambridge Road the bus will continue along the A1214 and turn right into Edmonton Road, then turn right into Carlton Road then left into Cambridge Road and along its usual route up Edmonton Road. It will then continue up to the junction with the A1214 and turn right, resuming normal route after the junction with Bell Lane.
From Kesgrave, as normal up to Bell Lane and instead of turning into Bell Lane, the bus will continue along the A1214 to Edmonton Road and continue its usual route via Edmonton Road, Orchard Grove and Cambridge Road as far as Carlton Road. It will then turn right into Carlton Road and left into Edmonton Road then back to the junction of the A1214 where it turns left and resumes normal route.
This means that Edmonton Close and Bell Lane bus stops will be closed
On Thurs 11th – Friday 12th with upper Cambridge Rd closed the 68 bus will operate as follows:
From Ipswich, as normal up to Cambridge Road and instead of turning into Cambridge Road the bus will continue along the A1214 and turn right into Edmonton Road, then turn right into Carlton Road then left into Cambridge Road and along its usual route.
From Kesgrave, as normal as far as Cambridge Road. It will then turn right into Carlton Road, left into Edmonton Road and continue to the A1214 where it will turn left on to the A1214 to resume its normal route.
This means that all bus stops will be open, but the bus will take a different route (via Carlton Road) to reach them.
